Strange noises

Henry "reads" to Miles as you can see - and he can even do it in Japanese...

and Miles likes to make noises. Too bad the noises he makes in the middle of the night don't sound as sweet as these.

Tummy time? I think not

Yes, every parent has wonder-children who exceed all expectations, but I was shocked to say the least when Miles rolled over at 7 weeks old. I had just left the room to change Henry's diaper and Jeff's parents caught the moment. Since then he has rolled over pretty much each time we place him on his tummy. What a wonder-child!

Henry just couldn't resist hanging out with his brother on the floor.

Getting big!

Miles is getting bigger of course, and it seems to be happening quickly. He's just starting to smile a little bit, and "talk" a little more, but not too much. He's awake a lot more during the day which is fun and he loves his big brother, except when he's smothering him with hugs. It's so fun to watch them together.

Family and ouch!

We're 5 weeks into this new baby experiment, and so far I'd say it's a success. Henry continues to love his little brother (just a bit too much) and Miles continues to keep eating, sleeping, pooping (a lot) and crying (a little). We're still getting up 2 times a night for about a 45 minutes each time. Hopefully soon he'll start sleeping more than 2 hours at a time. I could definitely use it at this point.

Some new pictures to enjoy:

Hey little brother - look at us - we can sit on the chair together!

I love holding my little brother!

Henry had his first good "bang" over the weekend. He wanted to show mom something and fell right into the corner of the coffee table. Luckily it hit where it did - no broken nose, cut scalp or black eye. He recovered amazingly quickly. This picture was taken probably 10 minutes after "the incident."

Here's some more pictures of Miles. He's getting a little bit bigger. He's almost growing out of his newborn diapers and his newborn clothes (Henry never even fit in those). He's sleeping fairly well - waking up 2 times during the night typically. He's also started to have a bit more awake time during the day. Yesterday he was up for 5 1/2 hours straight. He's eating on a schedule now, which is nice for both of us - 2 1/2 hours apart.

Updates for you

Miles is 2 weeks old now. I'd say he's growing so fast, but at this point I can't see a real big difference. He's awake about 5 or 6 hours a day now, usually in 2-3 hour blocks. He's also eating like a champ and getting up 3 times each night, leaving mom to sleep in 1 1/2 to 2 hour blocks, which works for the most part.

We made the mistake of having Henry hold Miles last week. Now he constantly wants to hold him. He still gives him hugs and kisses, likes to point out his eyes, his hat, and even his neck. He is being an outstanding big brother - we couldn't ask him to be any better. What a sweet boy.

Henry has been really enjoying a new game with his Dad. Too bad it's so exhausting because he wants to do it all of the time now:
