We got to go to the doctor yesterday for Miles' one year check-up. Henry asked me if he had to get shots (flashbacks from all the flu shots this year I guess). I told him Miles was and he said, "no shots for Miles!" What a considerate brother. He then told Miles "it's okay Miles" when he was screaming from them. Miles calmed down right away though - he's a trooper.
Here's the numbers:
22 pounds, 10 oz., 50th percentile
28.75 inches, 20th percentile
large head, 80th percentile
So, we have a fat, short, large-headed baby. Sounds about right to me!

Happy Birthday Miles!
Since he's 1 now, he's become an expert at drinking real milk out of a cup. That's my boy!
Our birthday excursion was to the Como Zoo. He liked it, but I think the rest of us had more fun.

He did much better with the cake this time around. No scary people to distract him, just tasty goodness:

10 months
10 months! This is the only picture I got of Miles holding still. He sure is a "squirmy wormy" as H likes to call him.

Miles is loving the tool bench we got for Henry for Christmas last year:

He just doesn't sit still. Here he's playing his tiny guitar:
We visited Santa on Saturday. Miles didn't cry for the first few seconds, but that didn't last long. Henry was a champ and just sort of sat there with this look on his face. As he says though, he didn't cry. He's very proud of himself for that.

He got a candy cane and a reindeer hat, which was a big hit:

Notice the new door behind Miles. We can now walk out to our deck - just in time for snow!
Here Miles is "reading" a book. He loves the flaps.
